Backend R&D Team Lead

You will lead the design, development, and delivery of full-stack product capabilities spanning backend services, data pipelines, and user-facing applications. You will provide hands-on technical leadership, mentor engineers, guide architecture and code-quality decisions, and build scalable systems for real-time security use cases. You will also uphold testing, observability, performance, and reliability standards while contributing to planning, sprint execution, and delivery commitments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of full-stack features and product enhancements
• Provide technical leadership across backend and frontend systems
• Mentor team members on best practices, architecture decisions, and code quality
• Drive scalable and maintainable architectures for real-time security-critical systems
• Collaborate with Product, Security, and Research to align technical solutions with business and customer needs
• Maintain high standards for testing, observability, performance, and reliability
• Participate in planning, sprint execution, and delivery commitments

Requirements

• Demonstrate experience as a Team Lead or Senior Engineer with leadership responsibilities
• Possess strong hands-on full-stack development experience
• Have at least 5 years of Python backend experience
• Have experience with modern frontend technologies such as React
• Have experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
• Have solid experience with SQL databases, with PostgreSQL considered an advantage
• Understand CI/CD pipelines and development best practices
• Understand Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and backlog management
• Be able to mentor engineers and lead a team toward high-quality delivery
• Hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science or possess equivalent experience
