VP Design and Engineering APAC

You will lead data centre design and engineering delivery across APAC. You will define technical strategy and standards, oversee projects from feasibility through handover, manage multidisciplinary consultants and contractors, ensure regulatory compliance, support utility and power strategy, and provide leadership with progress, cost, risk, and mitigation updates.

Responsibilities

• Lead the APAC Data Centre Design and Engineering function
• Set technical strategy, design standards, and reference architectures
• Lead projects from technical due diligence through operational handover
• Define and approve design specifications, drawings, equipment selections, and engineering changes
• Ensure designs meet availability, resiliency, safety, security, and operational-readiness requirements
• Lead design of critical electrical, cooling, controls, and fire-safety infrastructure
• Develop solutions for high-density AI and GPU deployments
• Manage architects, engineers, contractors, OEMs, and colocation partners
• Establish engineering governance, design assurance, and risk-management controls
• Support utility engagement and power strategy
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and data-centre standards
• Support construction, testing, commissioning, and handover
• Provide senior leadership with design, cost, schedule, and risk updates

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering, or equivalent
• 12+ years of experience in data centre design and engineering, mission-critical facilities, hyperscale infrastructure, or similar environments
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams
• Experience delivering data-centre projects from feasibility through commissioning
• Expertise in critical electrical and mechanical data-centre systems
• Ability to manage technical consultants, contractors, OEMs, utilities, and senior stakeholders
• Commercial judgment balancing CAPEX, programme, reliability, operational risk, and total cost of ownership
• Willingness to travel across APAC
