Vice President, Primary

This position is based in Adams Street Partners' Menlo Park, California offices and focuses on venture capital and buyout fund investments, growth-stage co-investments, and venture secondaries.

Responsibilities

• Meet with general partner groups to evaluate investment opportunities
• Manage global venture capital and buyout deal flow
• Conduct market and investment-sector research
• Lead qualitative and quantitative investment due diligence
• Perform diligence on growth-stage co-investments and venture secondaries
• Prepare investment memoranda and participate in investment committee discussions
• Negotiate partnership terms and coordinate closings with counsel
• Support portfolio construction and evaluation
• Author research and thought leadership pieces
• Mentor and manage junior team members
• Monitor investments, reports, compliance, pipeline, and allocation planning
• Support marketing presentations and investor relationships

Requirements

• 6-8 years of investing analysis and due diligence experience
• Experience investing in the technology sector through funds, co-investments, or secondaries
• Strong modeling, organizational, writing, and analytical skills
• Deep understanding of private equity and venture-sector trends, especially technology
• Ability to synthesize complex data clearly
• Strong relationship skills with clients, general partners, and colleagues
• Ability to work independently within an integrated global team
• Desire to build a career in venture capital investing
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
• MBA or similar advanced degree preferred but not required
