Technical Writer

Prove is hiring a Technical Writer for a part-time contract role, working approximately 20 hours per week remotely from the United States. You will help customers and developers understand Prove products by creating clear, accurate documentation for identity verification and authentication workflows.

The role

This is a part-time contract position paid at $60 to $75 per hour. You will work with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to document new features, improve existing guides, and keep technical content consistent across Prove products and platforms.

What you will do

• Write, edit, and maintain product documentation, guides, and reference material for developers and customers.
• Work with engineers and product managers to understand new features and translate them into clear instructions.
• Review and update existing documentation for accuracy, clarity, and consistency as products change.
• Help set documentation standards and improve how technical information is organized and published.

What we are looking for

• Experience writing technical documentation for software products, ideally for developer audiences.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and a clear, plain language style.
• Comfort learning complex identity, security, or API concepts and explaining them simply.
• Ability to work independently on a part-time schedule and manage documentation projects to completion.
