Systems Engineer

You will design and implement core blockchain systems focused on security, scalability, and decentralization. You will operate and maintain a large node network, optimize throughput and performance, profile and debug low-level code, prototype research ideas, and coordinate engineering work and incident responses, including off-hour emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop blockchain systems with high security scalability and decentralization
• Operate and maintain a large network of nodes and manage on-chain assets
• Optimize system throughput to support very high request rates with cost constraints
• Prototype and implement research-driven features and performance improvements
• Debug and profile low-level code including hexadecimal-level analysis
• Coordinate asynchronously with engineers and write technical updates
• Respond to off-hour emergencies and on-call incidents
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in computer science with specialization in kernel data structures or compilers
• 3 to 5 years of professional experience including at least 1 year of startup experience
• Ability to work full-time onsite five days per week in Palo Alto California and handle off-hour emergencies
• Exceptional communication and people skills
