Staff Software Engineer - Market Data

You will design, build, and operate distributed systems that ingest, normalize, process, store, and deliver realtime market data. You will create streaming services and client APIs, improve data quality and service objectives, investigate incidents, and own production services including on-call support. You will use AI-assisted development, lead technical decisions, write designs, and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed systems for realtime market-data ingestion, normalization, processing, storage, and delivery
• Build and operate streaming solutions that handle ordering, timestamps, duplicates, replay, gaps, recovery, blockchain reorganizations, and finality
• Build reliable client feeds and APIs with delivery contracts, schema evolution, access controls, and predictable behavior under load
• Partner on reference-data models and historical-data capture
• Define and improve service objectives and data-quality measures
• Instrument latency, freshness, completeness, and correctness
• Debug independently and drive root-cause analysis to durable fixes
• Own services through deployment and production support, including on-call participation
• Use AI to explore designs, implement changes, test, investigate failures, and improve documentation
• Lead technical decisions, write designs, and mentor engineers

Requirements

• Experience building and operating distributed backend or data services with demanding reliability and performance requirements
• Experience with realtime streaming systems, including concurrency, state management, backpressure, and recovery
• Strong computer science fundamentals and backend engineering skills
• Ability to turn ambiguous requirements into pragmatic designs and production services
• Clear written communication and ability to work effectively with a distributed team
• Financial or market-data experience at a financial institution
