Staff Software Engineer, Industrial Controls Systems - Tooling

You will design and develop industrial control automation, PLC and HMI code-generation tools, and AI-powered testing and deployment solutions. You will build scalable software, integrate tools and APIs, resolve production issues, mentor junior engineers, and communicate with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop industrial control system automation.
• Drive PLC and HMI auto code generation using AOI libraries and Ignition templates.
• Automate PLC code testing, optimization, and remote deployment with Agentic AI.
• Design scalable and maintainable software systems.
• Analyze production issues and deliver timely solutions.
• Integrate tools, services, and APIs for data retrieval and reporting.
• Lead assigned tasks and mentor junior team members.
• Communicate with internal and external customers.

Requirements

• College degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of software design and implementation experience.
• At least 5 years of professional object-oriented C# development experience.
• Demonstrated experience with AI-driven development and Agentic AI applications.
• PLC programming experience preferred.
• Experience integrating and testing with tools such as Rockwell and Ignition.
• Experience with microservice development and database schema.
• Background in networking and electrical engineering.
• Customer-facing and multitasking ability.
