Staff Software Engineer Behavior Planning

You will design, implement, validate, deploy, and analyze behavior-planning and motion-planning features. You will debug autonomy behavior using logs, simulation, metrics, and driving data; define success criteria; write production C++ software; participate in technical reviews; and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and improve behavior-planning and motion-planning features
• Own planning projects from problem definition through deployment
• Debug autonomy behavior using logs, simulation, metrics, and real-world data
• Improve planning decisions across safety, comfort, progress, and operational constraints
• Collaborate across prediction, controls, perception, machine learning, simulation, systems, and safety
• Define success metrics and validation plans
• Write production-quality C++ software
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions
• Mentor junior and senior engineers

Requirements

• Behavior planning, motion planning, decision-making, robotics, autonomous-vehicle, or related experience
• C++ software engineering skills
• Production or near-production autonomy-software experience
• Robotics or autonomy debugging using logs, metrics, and simulation
• Safety, comfort, and deployment-readiness judgment
• Collaboration and communication skills
