Staff Mechanical Engineer Power System Battery Pack Designer

You will lead mechanical battery-system design for aircraft, launch and recovery vehicles, and ground equipment. You will design enclosures, packaging, harness and connector integration, thermal protection, and retention systems; verify reliability; investigate failures; and guide design reviews and execution.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute battery-system enclosure, thermal management, and environmental protection
• Design and integrate internal component packaging, retention, harnesses, and connectors
• Perform tolerance, assembly, and serviceability analysis
• Verify system performance and reliability through shock, vibration, ingress, and thermal testing
• Investigate root causes of mechanical, environmental, and manufacturing problems
• Provide mentorship, design review, and program execution leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Battery design experience for large aircraft or an equivalent power system
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience delivering battery power systems to market
• Proficiency with mechanical engineering development tools, simulation, and test equipment
