Staff Engineer Software Architect

You will shape domain models and cross-team contracts across Java and TypeScript services, decision workflows, and AI agents. You will define architecture conventions, document decisions, review critical designs and pull requests, build reference modules, mentor senior engineers and Tech Leads, and write usable specifications.

Responsibilities

• Model bounded contexts, aggregates, invariants, and ubiquitous language with teams
• Own cross-team contracts using Protobuf, gRPC, versioned schemas, and published languages
• Define and evolve architecture conventions and CI fitness functions
• Document architecture decisions and trade-offs in ADRs
• Review critical designs and pull requests across Java and TypeScript repositories
• Build proofs of concept and reference modules
• Evolve AI-agent and automated-decision domain models
• Evolve Java and TypeScript integrations and decision workflow orchestration
• Mentor Tech Leads and senior engineers
• Write conventions and specifications for people and coding agents

Requirements

• Hands-on Staff, Principal, or software architect experience with production code
• Strategic and tactical DDD and hexagonal architecture expertise
• Strong production experience in Java or TypeScript and fluent reading of the other language
• Experience designing versioned APIs, gRPC, or event contracts
• Experience with distributed systems, consistency, idempotency, long-running execution, and partial failures
• Experience documenting explicit technical trade-offs
• Ability to influence teams without formal authority
• Rigorous use of coding agents
• Clear written Portuguese and technical English reading
