Staff Engineer Flight Sciences Design

You will conduct aerodynamic design and multidisciplinary optimization work for air vehicles. You will run CFD simulations, build aerodynamic and performance models, support wind-tunnel testing, analyze flight-test data, and collaborate with structural, propulsion, and controls engineers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct aerodynamic design and multidisciplinary optimizations.
• Run CFD simulations and communicate results.
• Construct aerodynamic models using wind-tunnel, CFD, and physics-based data.
• Develop aerodynamic performance models and tools for design and flight operations.
• Support wind-tunnel test campaigns.
• Analyze flight-test data to validate and refine aerodynamic models and designs.
• Collaborate with structural, propulsion, and control-systems engineers.

Requirements

• 7 or more years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a Master’s degree, or 4 years with a PhD.
• 5 or more years of aerodynamics or conceptual-design experience on air-vehicle programs.
• CFD software and technique familiarity.
• Python or MATLAB aerodynamic tool-development familiarity.
• Aircraft sizing and conceptual-design experience.
• Problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
