SRE Monitoring Platform Software Engineer

You will build and operate monitoring-platform components under guidance from a senior engineer. You will develop collection, alerting, topology, remediation, and workflow capabilities; instrument services; create dashboards and runbooks; and write automated tests.

Responsibilities

• Build collection, storage, enrichment, and monitoring components
• Contribute to alerting, correlation, and SLO frameworks
• Contribute to topology and cluster-health services and collection plugins
• Build remediation, workflow, inspection, and scheduling components
• Instrument services with metrics, logs, and traces using OpenTelemetry
• Build dashboards and write on-call runbooks
• Write unit, integration, and contract tests
• Participate in chaos and soak testing
• Participate in on-call as a shadow before taking primary responsibility

Requirements

• 0–2 years of software engineering experience
• Programming proficiency in Go, Python, Java, or Rust
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, networking, and operating systems
• Understanding of distributed systems concepts including idempotency, retries, back-pressure, caching, and eventual consistency
• Exposure to Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, or similar observability tools
• Linux and shell familiarity
• Kubernetes fundamentals
• Git and CI pipeline experience
• Unit and integration testing experience
• Written and verbal English communication skills
