Description

You will plan, execute, and analyze vibration, modal, structural, and environmental tests. You will build instrumented setups, operate shaker systems, analyze dynamic response data, correlate results with models, investigate hardware issues, develop test documentation, maintain equipment, and support qualification activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead vibration test programs for product development, qualification, and flight readiness
  • Design, build, and deploy instrumented setups for vibration, modal, structural, and environmental testing
  • Execute shaker table testing, including sine sweep, random vibration, sine-on-random, resonance search, dwell, and shock testing
  • Perform experimental modal analysis and validate finite element models
  • Develop fixtures and test methodologies that replicate operational loading conditions
  • Instrument hardware with accelerometers, strain gauges, force sensors, displacement sensors, and dynamic measurement systems
  • Analyze vibration response data to identify resonances, mode shapes, damping characteristics, and failure mechanisms
  • Correlate test results with analytical models and improve designs
  • Investigate vibration-related hardware issues and recommend design improvements
  • Develop test plans, procedures, reports, and technical presentations
  • Maintain vibration testing equipment, data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and calibration records
  • Support environmental qualification testing and other mechanical test activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Hands-on vibration testing experience with mechanical or aerospace systems
  • Experience operating electrodynamic shaker systems and vibration control software
  • Experience with accelerometers, signal conditioning, data acquisition systems, and dynamic instrumentation
  • Knowledge of structural dynamics, vibration theory, modal analysis, and frequency response functions
  • Experience with experimental modal testing and finite element model correlation
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 vibration and shock testing or equivalent aerospace standards
  • Experience interpreting vibration data, resonances, structural response characteristics, and failure modes
  • Knowledge of CAD software
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to independently drive technical projects and deliver results
