Senior Staff Sensor Integration Engineer

Description
You will support the selection, characterization, calibration, and production integration of multi-modal navigation and localization sensors. You will develop test plans and calibration tools, collaborate across electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines, troubleshoot hardware-to-software issues, and document sensor requirements and performance.
Responsibilities
- Support sensor integration from specification through production
- Develop and execute characterization and calibration procedures for IMUs, GNSS receivers, cameras, and navigation sensors
- Contribute to sensor trade studies and selection
- Collaborate on electrical interfaces, power distribution, signal conditioning, mounting, alignment, thermal and vibration considerations
- Contribute to software interfaces, drivers, data acquisition, and calibration implementation
- Participate in cross-disciplinary design reviews
- Develop and execute sensor performance characterization and validation test plans
- Document sensor characteristics, trade studies, and integration requirements
- Develop or modify calibration scripts and data-processing tools
- Debug hardware, firmware, and software issues
- Review schematics, CAD models, and code
- Travel occasionally for team, supplier, or testing coordination
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field
- 1–4 years of relevant experience, or strong cross-functional internship or project experience for new graduates
- Ability to work across at least two of electrical, mechanical, and software domains
- Understanding of sensor measurement principles and error sources
- Ability to read electrical schematics and/or mechanical drawings
- Basic scripting or programming proficiency for data analysis using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools
- Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN communication protocols
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment and sensor testing
