You will build and maintain backend services and APIs while contributing to frontend work as needed. You will design schemas, improve database performance and integrity, test software, deploy containerized services, automate operational work, improve observability and performance, and participate in on-call support.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs
- Contribute frontend work when needed
- Design schemas and maintain data integrity
- Optimize PostgreSQL queries and data-layer performance
- Write and maintain RSpec test coverage
- Package and deploy services with Docker
- Automate repetitive work and data migrations
- Instrument systems with logging, metrics, and tracing
- Benchmark and profile code to resolve performance bottlenecks
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
- Participate in the on-call pager rotation
Requirements
- 4–8 years of professional software-development experience
- SQL knowledge
- PostgreSQL experience
- Large-codebase experience
- Scripting ability
- Docker experience
- Git proficiency
- Ruby, Python, or Java proficiency
- AI-tool experience in software development
- RSpec experience
- Ruby or Ruby on Rails experience
- React experience
- AWS knowledge
- Multi-tenant SaaS experience
- Observability knowledge
- Performance-profiling experience
- Treasury, payments, FX, or ERP experience
