Senior Software Engineer API Products

You will lead backend API and trading-product projects from research and architecture through production. You will extend existing APIs for chains, bridges, and customer needs; improve reliability and performance; investigate failed trades and transfers; participate in on-call; and document and review technical designs.

Responsibilities

• Build new APIs and trading products from research and architecture through initial production release
• Maintain and extend existing APIs for new chains, bridges, and customer-requested features
• Keep APIs fast and reliable as traffic grows
• Participate in the on-call rotation
• Investigate failed trades and stuck transfers using logs, traces, and onchain data
• Resolve root causes of failed trades and transfers
• Translate product, legal, GTM, and compliance needs into technical decisions
• Write design documents and review teammates’ designs and pull requests

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience
• At least 2 years of DeFi experience at a trading app, wallet, DEX aggregator, onchain data company, or similar
• Experience owning complex projects end to end
• Experience building and maintaining developer-facing APIs
• Deep EVM and onchain knowledge, including transactions, calldata, contract interfaces, gas, and approvals
• System design experience for production-scale backend services
• Experience using AI tools as an engineer
• Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs to non-engineers
• Ability to attend annual in-person team offsites
