Senior Security Engineer

You will build production-grade Python security tooling and automation for cloud environments. You will create Kubernetes security automation, integrate security controls into GitLab CI/CD pipelines, develop security metrics and dashboards, modernize legacy PHP systems, respond to incidents with automated remediation, and mentor colleagues on secure development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Python-driven security tools, including vulnerability scanners, API security validators, and CI/CD security gateways
• Build Kubernetes security automation, including RBAC policy generators, runtime threat detection, and secrets rotation
• Create self-service infrastructure-as-code validators and container compliance checks
• Enhance GitLab CI/CD pipelines with SAST, DAST, and secrets-detection automation
• Develop Grafana-compatible tooling for security metrics, log analysis, and threat-visibility dashboards
• Modernize legacy PHP systems through Python wrappers and migration pipelines
• Integrate security tooling into development workflows
• Champion security automation best practices in cloud-native environments
• Respond to security incidents with custom tooling and automated remediation
• Mentor team members on secure development practices and tool architecture

Requirements

• 5+ years of security-focused software development experience with tool-building expertise
• Advanced Python proficiency using Flask or FastAPI, asynchronous workflows, and testing frameworks
• Hands-on Kubernetes tooling experience, including operators, admission controllers, or custom security automation
• Experience creating Grafana dashboards, collecting metrics, and customizing GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Basic PHP familiarity
• Understanding of security automation and DevSecOps practices
• Experience with container security, secrets management, and infrastructure-as-code security validation
• Ability to build scalable security solutions that integrate with development workflows
• Experience creating self-service tools that reduce manual security overhead
