Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Design, build, and deploy privacy-preserving identity solutions for state governments and enterprise customers. Translate customer requirements into technical architectures and implementations, advise partners on standards adoption, develop backend and web or mobile applications, and manage deployments and operations while working directly with customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of products and solutions for state governments and enterprise customers
• Collaborate with customer delivery leads, engineers, and UX designers on project delivery and deployments
• Translate customer requirements into technical architectures and working implementations
• Advise public-sector partners on standards adoption and best practices
• Build backend software and full-stack web and mobile applications
• Contribute to Rust codebases across backend, mobile, and browser environments
• Manage customer deployments and support operations

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience shipping backend software in statically typed languages such as C#, Rust, Go, or Java
• Experience shipping modern web frontends meeting accessibility and security standards
• Ability to lead cross-functional engineering efforts and deliver production systems
• Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and DevOps practices
• Excellent communication skills and direct customer-facing consulting or delivery experience
• Based in the United States
• Bonus: foundation in digital identity, cryptography, data privacy, or blockchain
• Bonus: prior public-sector software project experience
