Senior Engineering Manager

You will own delivery and business outcomes across multiple teams or domains. You will set strategy and roadmaps with Product, manage dependencies and operational standards, shape technical direction, resolve cross-functional blockers, and develop senior engineers, technical leads, and managers.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery across multiple teams or domains
• Set milestones, critical paths, quality gates, and cross-team dependency management
• Set strategy and roadmaps with Product
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and create durable plans, RFCs, escalation memos, and postmortems
• Partner with Staff and Principal engineers on technical direction and technical debt strategy
• Maintain standards for on-call operations, incident response, reliability, and cost management
• Design operating models, ownership structures, on-call rotations, and capacity plans
• Hire and develop senior engineers, technical leads, and future managers
• Eliminate systemic blockers across teams

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• 4–6+ years of people leadership experience
• Experience owning outcomes across multiple teams or a multi-team domain
• Ability to communicate trade-offs credibly to senior leadership
• Experience hiring, developing, and promoting engineering leaders
• Ability to influence technical direction with Staff and Principal engineers
• Commercial understanding of costs, returns, Product, and Finance
• Experience resolving performance, prioritization, and peer-conflict issues
• Experience recovering stalled cross-team initiatives or restoring predictability
