Senior DNS Infrastructure Engineer

You will own and scale the DNS ecosystem, creating an API-driven and automated architecture. You will manage PowerDNS services, automate configuration through GitOps, design multi-tenant routing and Anycast DNS, and document operational pipelines for platform teams.

Responsibilities

• Shape, scale, and maintain global PowerDNS authoritative and recursive infrastructure
• Use dnsdist for load balancing, query filtering, and denial-of-service mitigation
• Automate DNS configuration with SaltStack, Ansible, and GitOps
• Design automated subdomain delegation and tenant-isolation architectures
• Partner on BGP Anycast DNS for global low-latency failover
• Write internal documentation and runbooks

Requirements

• Experience architecting, tuning, and operating PowerDNS Authoritative, Recursor, and dnsdist at massive scale
• In-depth knowledge of DNS internals including TSIG, DNSSEC, EDNS, SOA timers, and query and response optimization
• Understanding of MySQL or PostgreSQL DNS backends and BGP or Anycast routing
• 5+ years of infrastructure configuration management experience using SaltStack or Ansible
• Ability to communicate complex DNS issues clearly
