Product Legal Counsel

Description
You will lead the legal and regulatory work behind Embedded partnerships, negotiate complex B2B agreements, and translate regulatory requirements into product and contract requirements. You will also structure new products and features, work with regulators, and maintain product compliance documentation and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate Embedded partnership agreements, SLAs, data and marketing appendices, and partner-specific terms
- Structure partnerships under applicable regulatory models and translate them into contract and product requirements
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to reflect partner needs and regulatory constraints in product development
- Act as the legal counterpart for partners’ legal and compliance teams during negotiation and onboarding
- Lead legal review and structuring for new products and features from design through launch
- Engage with EU and UK regulators on applicable financial regulation
- Handle product regulatory compliance with the Compliance team
- Draft and update operational procedures and product terms and conditions
- Review product-related marketing and technical content
- Maintain registers, audit counterparties and partners, and support product-related regulatory reporting
Requirements
- Degree in law or business, ideally in banking and financial law
- At least 5 years of experience as a product or commercial legal counsel in fintech, banking, financial services, or a relevant law-firm practice
- Strong knowledge of MiFID/MiFIR, PSD2/EMD2, MiCA, and DORA
- Experience leading complex B2B contractual negotiations between fintechs or financial institutions
- Professional proficiency in English
