Integration Engineer - MaaS

You will build and operate adapters between the MaaS gateway and third-party inference providers. You will normalize provider APIs and errors, implement circuit breakers and spend controls, monitor contract changes, reconcile provider invoices, and evaluate new providers through technical proof-of-concept integrations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain adapters for third-party inference providers
• Normalize provider request formats, response formats, streaming protocols, authentication, capabilities, and errors
• Implement spend controls, circuit breakers, throttling, and failover mechanisms
• Monitor API changelogs and response shapes for breaking changes
• Build automated contract tests and provider rollback paths
• Reconcile provider invoices with internal usage and metering records
• Evaluate prospective providers for API quality, pricing, reliability, and failure modes

Requirements

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience with production API integrations
• Experience integrating multiple third-party providers behind one internal interface
• Experience with Go or another statically typed backend language
• Experience building HTTP or gRPC clients, retry logic, backoff logic, and circuit breakers
• Knowledge of LLM and inference provider APIs
• Experience with cost and usage monitoring for metered systems
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or distributed tracing
