Head of Legal and Compliance

You will serve as the legal and regulatory lead for Vietnam. You will interpret privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, AI, telecom, e-commerce, and sector-specific requirements, translating them into practical workflows, evidence, and compliance controls. You will map legal obligations into platform logic, review Vietnamese-facing materials, support law-firm and enterprise discussions, and help maintain internal legal and compliance governance as operations scale.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate coverage of Vietnamese privacy, data, cybersecurity, telecom, e-commerce, AI, and sector-specific regulations
• Translate laws, decrees, circulars, and official guidance into practical obligations
• Map legal requirements into compliance workflows, evidence packs, transfer assessments, DSR processes, consent controls, vendor governance, incident workflows, and audit requirements
• Review and localize Vietnam-facing sales, partner, regulatory, training, website, and customer materials
• Support law-firm partners and explain how technical compliance tools support legal advisory work
• Support enterprise meetings requiring regulatory confidence
• Review partner terms, LOI structures, customer contract language, and risks in reseller, referral, and white-label models
• Help define boundaries between technical compliance services and legal advisory services
• Support internal data protection, compliance policies, and legal-accuracy documentation

Requirements

• 5+ years of legal, compliance, privacy, risk, regulatory, or data-protection experience
• Strong understanding of Vietnamese law and regulatory interpretation
• Fluent Vietnamese and strong English
• Ability to read, interpret, summarize, and operationalize legal texts
• Ability to work with technical founders, product teams, and commercial teams
• Strong Vietnamese writing skills
• Ability to explain legal requirements in practical business language
• Comfort learning how technical systems collect, store, process, transfer, and evidence data handling
• Interest in privacy technology, RegTech, GRC, AI governance, cybersecurity, and data compliance
