Description
You will lead and maintain compliance frameworks across international operations. You will oversee the Australian AML/CTF program, advise senior leaders, engage regulators, coordinate regional compliance personnel, and translate regulatory obligations into effective operational controls.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls
- Own and oversee the Australian AML/CTF Program, including CDD/KYC, transaction monitoring, and suspicious matter reporting
- Lead AML/CTF program reviews, independent audits, and remediation efforts
- Act as the designated AML/CTF Compliance Officer with AUSTRAC and lead regulatory engagement in Australia
- Oversee transaction monitoring, enhanced due diligence, blockchain surveillance, and case management controls
- Translate regulatory requirements into proportionate operational controls
- Oversee Australian financial services regulatory compliance
- Oversee complaints, incidents, breaches, and regulatory notifications
- Provide compliance input for new products, tokens, customer journeys, marketing, and material business changes
- Coordinate regional Compliance Managers and MLROs
- Coordinate staff training on regulatory obligations, AML/CTF awareness, and risk management protocols
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise the Board and management
- Engage with regulators, industry bodies, banking partners, and other external stakeholders
Requirements
- Significant experience in senior compliance, AML/CTF, financial crime, or regulatory roles within a highly regulated environment
- Strong knowledge of Australian AML/CTF obligations and AML/CTF compliance frameworks
- Strong understanding of Australian financial services regulation
- Ability to provide clear, pragmatic regulatory advice to senior executives and business teams
- Experience coordinating compliance responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions
- Digital asset, cryptocurrency, payments, or fintech experience
