Firmware Automation Engineer

You will build and maintain automation for firmware updates across servers, switches, accelerators, GPU clusters, and InfiniBand fabrics. You will use hardware management APIs, health telemetry, canary deployments, rollbacks, and infrastructure-as-code workflows to update hardware safely at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute zero-touch firmware update pipelines across the global fleet
• Own firmware lifecycles for systemboards, BMCs, InfiniBand HCAs, network switches, and GPUs
• Use Redfish and IPMI APIs to manage bare-metal assets
• Build health telemetry and automated rollback mechanisms
• Integrate firmware pipelines with SaltStack, Ansible, and provisioning workflows
• Collaborate on hardware errata, CVEs, and performance regressions

Requirements

• Experience managing firmware updates across thousands of nodes
• Mastery of the DMTF Redfish specification
• Understanding of firmware across systemboards, network stacks, and GPU architectures
• Expertise in hardware health verification and unattended rollback
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or advanced shell scripting
• Experience with Ansible or Salt configuration management
