Financial Accountant Part Time

You will manage day-to-day financial accounting and keep bookkeeping accurate in DATEV. You will process accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank transactions, assign incoming and outgoing payments to supporting documents, and investigate discrepancies. You will issue invoices for subscriptions, B2B partnerships, and individual billing. You will support monthly and annual financial statements, run recurring payments, maintain vendor accounts, and assist with VAT advance returns and coordination with the tax advisor. You will also contribute to broader finance work such as business planning, grant applications, and cost tracking. You will report directly to one of the founders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and prepare bookkeeping in DATEV, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Assign incoming and outgoing payments to the correct supporting documents and identify discrepancies
• Issue invoices for subscriptions, B2B partnerships, and individual billing
• Prepare and support monthly and annual financial statements
• Manage recurring payment runs and maintain vendor accounts
• Support VAT advance returns and coordinate with the tax advisor
• Support broader finance activities, including business planning, grant applications, and cost tracking
• Report directly to one of the founders

Requirements

• Fluent German written and spoken
• Extensive knowledge of DATEV
• Solid understanding of HGB and German tax fundamentals
• Experience with other accounting or ERP tools is a plus
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Available at short notice
