Financial Accountant

You will support accounting across regulated US entities, including month-end close, financial and regulatory reporting, reconciliations, tax, treasury, accounts payable, audits, and digital asset operations. You will strengthen controls, improve audit readiness, automate finance workflows, and take ownership of evolving projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own key elements of the month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Ensure financial reporting complies with US GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support FOCUS reports, NMLS call reports, DFS reporting, and transaction-level reporting for MSB and Virtual Currency operations.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations, cash postings, prepaid expense accounting, fixed asset accounting, and accounting adjustments.
• Support crypto and digital asset operations, including custody processes and digital asset accounting requirements.
• Manage accounts payable activities, including vendors, invoices, purchase orders, wires, and corporate spend platforms.
• Support financial, regulatory, and tax audits and deliver accurate, complete requests on time.
• Own client and vendor tax reporting, including W-9, W-8, and 1099 reporting.
• Identify control gaps and build scalable processes that improve accuracy and audit readiness.
• Use automation and AI-enabled tools to streamline finance workflows, reduce manual work, and accelerate month-end close.
• Take ownership of ad hoc projects and evolving priorities across regulated US entities.

Requirements

• Have at least three years of accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting and industry experience.
• Possess experience in a broker-dealer, fintech, financial services, or regulated environment, preferably.
• Hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Hold a CPA qualification, preferably; Series 27 or 28 is a strong advantage.
• Have experience with ERP and finance systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Priority.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Show a track record of automating, simplifying, or improving finance processes.
• Manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams and time zones.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and confidence in taking ownership.
• Show curiosity about crypto, blockchain, and digital assets.
