Director of Proposals

You will lead the proposal organization and manage proposal strategy, planning, written quality, compliance, and submission readiness. You will coordinate contributors, develop customer value narratives, oversee reviews and production, manage risks, maintain reusable content, and use performance results to improve proposal delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop proposal managers and proposal teams
• Build workforce and capacity plans and assign proposal resources across pursuits
• Shape proposal strategy, win themes, discriminators, and customer value narratives
• Own the proposal lifecycle from solicitation analysis through submission and revisions
• Establish schedules, compliance matrices, content plans, contributor assignments, and review milestones
• Lead color-team reviews and resolve findings before release
• Coordinate contributions from functional stakeholders and escalate submission risks
• Maintain records of commitments, assumptions, exclusions, and approved revisions
• Build and maintain reusable proposal content, templates, graphics, and response modules
• Measure proposal performance and lead retrospectives to improve execution

Requirements

• Progressive experience leading proposals for complex defense, aerospace, national security, or government technology opportunities
• Experience leading proposal managers and multidisciplinary proposal teams
• Ability to develop proposal strategies and translate technical capabilities into customer value
• Knowledge of solicitation analysis, compliance matrices, proposal planning, color-team reviews, content development, and submission production
• Writing and editing skills
• Experience coordinating Sales, Engineering, Product, Finance, Legal, Contracts, and delivery stakeholders
• Familiarity with government acquisition and contracting requirements
• Experience building processes and reusable content
