Chief Operating Officer

You will lead end-to-end operations, including compliance, finance, HR, recruiting, vendors, and internal systems. You will build and manage an operations team, lead fiscal sponsorship, design scalable hiring processes, oversee a US and European entity structure, and coordinate external accounting, payroll, legal, insurance, and EOR providers.

Responsibilities

• Hire and manage operations generalists
• Lead fiscal sponsorship for incubated projects
• Own compliance, finance, HR, recruiting, vendors, and internal systems
• Scale operations and organizational capacity
• Own hiring process design, rubrics, offer decisions, and recruiting vendors
• Build and lead a dedicated operations team
• Manage the multi-entity organizational structure
• Liaise with external accounting, payroll, EOR, legal, and insurance providers

Requirements

• Experience scaling an organization
• Experience managing a 501(c)(3) entity and ensuring compliance
• Experience in a mission-driven research organization or fast-paced technical environment
• Experience establishing organizational processes, compliance frameworks, and operational systems
• Knowledge of Ramp and Deel
• Knowledge of Notion, Slack, Discord, Google Workspace, and AI tools
