Buyer Direct Materials

You will manage day-to-day activities with assigned suppliers and contract manufacturers to support production. You will execute purchase orders, monitor delivery and material availability, analyze demand and inventory, track costs, coordinate engineering changes, and maintain supplier data in ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders, order acknowledgements, supplier delivery commitments, and supplier communications
• Monitor supplier delivery, lead times, shortages, material availability, and escalations
• Analyze demand forecasts, inventory levels, and supplier capacity; expedite critical components and resolve shortages
• Track supplier pricing, quotations, and cost changes; support commercial negotiations and cost-reduction initiatives
• Coordinate engineering changes, new part introductions, and product transitions with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Report supplier quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness metrics; maintain sourcing and supplier data in ERP systems
• Assist with RFQs, supplier benchmarking, and sourcing activities for mechanical, electrical, motion control, battery, and custom components

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field
• 1–3 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing experience
• Experience with contract manufacturers, EMS providers, or industrial hardware suppliers
• Knowledge of mechanical components, electronics, motors, batteries, cable assemblies, or custom fabricated components
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
• Excel and data analysis skills
• Supplier relationship management, organizational, and communication skills
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive and/or fly to client locations and company headquarters
