Backend Engineer Core Banking and Product Features

Develop and operate Java and Kotlin backend applications for a core banking system renewal project, including architecture, infrastructure, performance, monitoring, and reliability work. The role includes secondment to PayPay Bank and follows a hybrid workstyle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate Java and Kotlin backend applications for core banking systems
• Design and develop applications for performance, stability, and high reliability
• Implement infrastructure usage to resolve system challenges
• Design architecture based on application requirements and select middleware
• Tune microservice performance, configure monitoring, and respond to alerts

Requirements

• 3–5 years of backend development experience
• Practical Java experience and strong skills in other common programming languages
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming fundamentals
• Database schema design and efficient query creation for relational and NoSQL databases
• Web application development and tuning experience, including security considerations
• Business-level conversational English
• Hands-on professional software development experience using AI or LLM tools
