Backend Developer Java

You will design, build, and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable Java APIs and services. You will model and query SQL and NoSQL data, integrate services, write automated tests, improve CI/CD pipelines, review code, mentor colleagues, and strengthen reliability, performance, observability, and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java APIs and services
• Model data and write efficient SQL and NoSQL queries
• Integrate services through REST/JSON and messaging
• Write unit, integration, and contract tests
• Automate quality checks in CI
• Review code and diagrams and mentor colleagues
• Improve JVM and SQL performance, resilience, SLOs, and runbooks
• Implement security practices including OAuth2/OIDC, input validation, secrets management, and OWASP protections
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, GitOps deployments, observability, containers, and Kubernetes

Requirements

• Strong experience with Java 8+ and ideally Java 21
• Experience with Spring Boot, including Web, Data, Validation, Actuator, and Security
• At least 2 years of production backend-development experience
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis
• Experience with automated testing, continuous integration, security practices, and code-quality practices
